About us
The original Modernuser Group was founded in 1995 which incorporated a group of Companies founded by J. Eddie Drinkwater.
The original company HUTCHINSON ENGINEERING LTD (HEL) was founded in 1979 to manufacture and install structural steelwork. The second company was ALCHEM (Widnes) LTD which was founded in 1983 as an Electrical Contracting company.
The Companies then developed into the telecoms industry, with HEL manufacturing the towers and ALCHEM doing the installation of the electrical equipment.
This combination has been very successful and in 2003 was awarded the “Who’s Who of British Business Excellence” Prestige award of one of the most successful companies in the UK.
In 2009 the Group was a split due to the founder J. Eddie Drinkwater retiring, with Dean Drinkwater taking over HEL and Andrew Drinkwater taking over AQUICOMM LTD, a company that has been established for 10 years.
Andrew has recently taken over as Managing Director of AQUICOMM erecting Wind Turbines in the UK and has invaluable experience over the last 10 years building sites in the Highlands & Islands of Scotland and in the mountains of Wales for BT and AIRWAVES, using helicopters and other specialised equipment for the erection of the structures. The sites in Scotland have involved special ferry journeys to the remote islands of Scotland.
